Solid-state pulsed amplifiers from AR are a practical alternative to Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs). They are used for automotive and military EMC radiated immunity testing, and for radar and communication applications. Frequency ranges cover 1-2 GHz and up to 8-12 GHz, with peak power from 1.5 kW to 600 kW, so you can match an amplifier to the standard you are testing against. They are rugged, tolerate any source and load mismatch without damage or oscillation, and have a high mean time to failure. Each has a touchscreen control panel, GPIB interface, TTL gating, fault monitoring and forced air cooling.
