CAD Designer

AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation, located in Souderton, PA, is seeking a motivated, recent graduate for an open CAD Design position. This position will learn to play a crucial role in the development of RF/Microwave amplifiers and related instrumentation.  The ideal candidate will prefer diversity overspecialization and desire to work in a small team setting to architect, develop Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and Mechanical packaging.  Work alongside and collaborate with a team of engineers to model and document complex electrical and mechanical designs.  Recent CAD experience required.  Experience with Autodesk Inventor®, AutoCAD, and Altium Designer is preferred. This is an entry-level position and we welcome recent graduates to apply.


  • Utilize Electrical CAD software to design and develop PCB assemblies
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and assembly documentation
  • Operate cutting-edge in-house PCB prototyping machinery
  • Utilize solid modeling software to design and develop mechanical parts for product packaging
  • Create Bills of Material
  • Work closely with Engineers to document and assist with optimizing their designs
  • Generate documentation for fabrication and production of assemblies
  • Prepare and implement design changes to existing products


  • 1-2 years of experience with PCB design
  • 1-2 years of experience with 3D mechanical part modeling
  • Experience with Altium Designer
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with LPKF PCB prototyping equipment

Customer Service Technician - Calibration

Amplifier Research Corporation in Souderton, PA, world leader in the design and manufacture of broadband, RF/microwave amplifiers, is seeking an experienced customer service/calibration lab technician to troubleshoot, repair, and test RF equipment and maintain documentation, in addition to utilizing A2LA calibration testing procedures in an accredited laboratory.  Work with customers to solve equipment problems and expedite necessary repairs in-house or on-site. Perform or oversee assembly, installation, startup, and repair of RF amplifiers and systems at the customer site. Up to 30% travel to customer sites required (including international). ISO17025/A2LA calibration experience a plus.

  • Respond to customers regarding product feature/benefit and/or product or EMC system performance questions.
  • Perform training on systems, equipment, and software for AR and third-party products and systems.
  • Respond to RFP’s and RFQ’s.
  • Work with Customer Service on products to provide accurate information and support to customers for upgrades, new product availability, problem resolution and support.
  • Interpret customer requirements and orders for Engineering and Production departments.
  • Prepare applications notes to promote AR products.
  • Develop applications for AR systems, and products, and plan programs to promote them.
  • Develop data sheets and sketches, as required.
  • Work with Marketing personnel to develop effective ads, webinars, videos, promotion material, trade show graphics, new market research and product and system development.
  • 35-50 % travel required


  • BSEE and 3-5 years related experience preferred, or Associate degree and 5-8 years of related experience.

Test Technician

Amplifier Research Corporation, world leader in the design and manufacture of broadband RF amplifiers, is seeking a Test Tech responsible for performing tests and troubleshooting RF equipment, as well as maintaining appropriate test documentation. The Technician will also perform basic wire checking as well as power supply and RF testing and troubleshooting of problems by performing the following duties.

  • Set up standard test apparatus to conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance.
  • Ensure assembly and test meets requirements;
  • Analyze and interpret simple test data;
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and record unit performance;
  • Perform point to point wire checking from wiring documentation for continuity and accuracy;
  • Perform DC power supply testing and interpret results;
  • Perform power supply troubleshooting and make repairs as required;
  • Perform minor disassembly and reassembly work on amplifiers;
  • Inspect assembly work for quality and document non-conformances;
  • Work with assemblers to improve quality.

Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or demonstrated ability to successfully perform all duties of this position; RF experience preferred. Must have basic computer skills.
